Naspers Ltd., a South Africa-based media company which owns OLX.ph, has taken over the domain name of Philippine online classified ads company Sulit.com.ph. The domain name was rebranded to OLX.ph, following the merger of the two companies.
“Our goal is to dominate the online global classified ads. The name change represents our commitment to change how Filipinos perceive online selling. That selling stuff you no longer use is simple and can actually help you earn additional cash,” said OLX Philippines Managing Director RJ David.
Naspers also became the parent firm of sulit.com.ph. and OLX after acquiring a significant stake in the online classified firms. The merger of Sulit and OLX resulted in a 67-percent market share of the online commerce business.
